Tour Highlights:
Cape Henry & the First Lighthouse – Stand at the site where the first permanent English settlers arrived in 1607, and marvel at the first U.S.-authorized lighthouse, marking the beginning of America’s maritime history.
The Historic Adam Thoroughgood House – Step into the past with a guided tour of this 17th-century home. Enjoy the gallery exhibits, watch a short film about the Thoroughgood family, and take in the scenic grounds. Half the group will explore the house, while the other enjoys the historical exhibits.
Private Lynnhaven House Preservation Tour – Immerse yourself in the history of this 18th-century plantation home. Savor a delicious Signature Box Lunch from Taste’s Flagship Location, included in your tour!
Ferry Plantation – Explore a site dating back to 1642, once home to the second ferry service in Hampton Roads. Learn the gripping story of Grace Sherwood – The Witch of Pungo, and experience the eerie atmosphere of this historic location, complete with original 1735 bricks and many period furnishings.
Pleasant Hall – Built between 1763-1769, this historically significant landmark showcases remarkable architectural design. This Home was used as Lord Dunmore’s Headquarters in 1775. It also hosted the Victory Ball after the Battle of Great Bridge that same year, making it a key site in both architectural and Revolutionary history.
